On Monday, May 18, 2026, the Museum of the organizing city of the Olympic Games of antiquity became the ideal space for the implementation of a targeted educational program.

The program had as its theme: “Museum of Elis: the museum of the organizing city of the Olympic Games of antiquity as an ambassador of their values“. The purpose of the event was to highlight the museum as a carrier of universal values ​​that have the power to unite peoples.

The program focused on presenting the institution of the games and promoting their ideals (fair competition, athletic ideal, moral reward). The students of the first and second grades of the 1st Primary School of Lechaina, who participated with great enthusiasm and creativity, were given a tour of the museum, discussed the Olympic values ​​and participated in an experiential activity of reviving the games.

The activity was designed and implemented by archaeologists Tonia Mourtzini and Chara Papachristopoulou.
